Soul Station
A downloadable game
Team 1 - Chrysanthème
Our serious video game prototype, created during the 3-day game jam "CREATJam," immerses players in an experience between life and death. You play as a character capable of communicating with spirits aboard a mystical train traversing foggy destinations. This train, both fascinating and unsettling, takes you through misty landscapes where tormented souls reside, unable to find peace due to deep regrets.
Each stop of the train reveals a new story and a troubled soul. These spirits, trapped by their remorse, need your help to ease their suffering and move towards the afterlife. Your mission is to restore the inner balance of each spirit by solving puzzles and listening to their poignant stories.
The game combines deep storytelling with meaningful interactions, allowing for an emotional connection with the characters and their narratives. The artistic direction, with its ethereal landscapes and dreamlike atmosphere, enhances the immersion. It's important to note that our development team consists of six passionate individuals, without any animators, which is a limitation we have overcome by using creative storytelling and design techniques.
This prototype offers a reflection on regret, redemption, and inner peace. By exploring these themes through an engaging interface, players reflect on their own lives while helping the spirits find serenity. It is an introspective journey through the intricacies of the human soul, set in an enchanting and mystical environment.
